South Jersey men classified as fugitives after failing to appear for Cumberland County court dates

Authorities in Cumberland County are trying to locate two men who reportedly failed to appear for court dates. The men were previously arrested and charged in unrelated incidents. When the suspects did not show up in Cumberland County Superior Court, located in Bridgeton NJ, the superior court judge issued warrants for their arrest. This officially made the suspects “fugitives,” meaning that they could be headed directly to jail if and when they are captured. One of the suspects is a 45-year-old man who used to live on Oak Lane in Vineland, New Jersey. He was reportedly supposed to show up for a mandatory court date in family court for an undisclosed matter. The other suspect is a 29-year-old man whose last known address was in Bridgeton, NJ. He allegedly failed to appear in Cumberland County Superior Court for at least two court dates related to criminal charges. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office has been attempting to find the suspects ever since the arrest warrants were issued. However, authorities have not yet been able to track down the men. Now law enforcement is asking for the public’s assistance in trying to locate the alleged fugitives from justice. Members of the public who have information about the suspects, or who know their current whereabouts, should contact local law enforcement.

Experienced South Jersey attorneys help clients fight criminal charges

Anyone who has been arrested in South Jersey needs to take appropriate steps to ensure that they meet all court-imposed requirements. This typically means showing up to all scheduled court hearings or at least having legal representation at these hearings. Failure to make a mandatory appearance at a pre-trial hearing or conference can potentially result in your bail being revoked and a warrant being issued for your arrest. Moreover, you could then find yourself stuck behind bars for months while awaiting resolution of your case. The truth is, the best move you can make if you have been arrested in South Jersey is to talk to an experienced criminal defense attorney who understands the nuances of the NJ legal system. A knowledgeable criminal defense lawyer will be able to advise you about your rights and obligations and work to keep you out of jail. If you have been arrested for a criminal offense in Atlantic County, Mercer County, Cumberland County, or anywhere else in South Jersey, you need to take the charges seriously.
