Armed Suspect Carjacks Motorcycle in New Jersey
By Davis Law Firm | October 26, 2017
An unknown man hijacked a motorcycle in late July, officials say.
Around 4 p.m. on Sunday, officers responded to a call from a man who claimed that he had been assaulted and had his motorcycle stolen from him.
When police arrived on the scene, reports state that they found a motorcycle rider on the side of the road, without his bike. When police approached the man, he claimed the driver of a Mercedes-Benz sedan approached the biker and said something that was non-understandable. He then proceeded to pull a gun on the bike rider, struck him in the face with the weapon, and then took the bike.
When the carjacker attempted to take the bike, he couldn’t get it to start though and quickly fled the scene in his Mercedes. Where he went from there is unknown.
Crimes like these can be hard to shake off of your criminal record. It might mean a hefty fine, or a considerable amount of jail time, depending on the severity of the crime itself. Though in a case like this – where the carjacker has yet to be found – it is likely that he will face serious penalties under court when he is apprehended.
